2017 Changes coming - We really do not know what the new tax law will be, but we suggest everyone do tax planning for 2017. It will take some time before the new law is set in place but here are some of the proposed items.

  • Eliminate the head of household status, this means single parents will have a higher tax bill
  • Personal and dependent deductions are eliminated. (Kids won't have any deduction.)
  • Standard deduction increased and itemized deductions eliminated (state tax, sales tax, real estate taxes, investment interest, employee business expenses except home and charity. However with the larger standard deduction you may not be able to take them when the other deductions are eliminated.
  • Changes to capital gains rates (but nothing has been specific yet)
  • Repeal estate tax (currently there is a $5 million+ exemption so this only helps the ultra rich)
  • Make smaller tax brackets so more of your income may be taxed at a higher rate.
  • Most of his other agenda items are so unclear that we just don't know what to say at this point.

"I am very thankful I found her. I will never utilize any other tax service. She is a great value, personalized service for a bargain. She isn't just a tax preparer she plans your tax liability all year long without any additional charges. She makes H and R block feel like McDonalds. Why grab a big mac when you could dine in style at the same price?

"Maria impressed me so much when she did my taxes. I don't have your simple tax forms either. She was able to find things my last guy never did and correct things he had done wrong... and he wasn't cheap! I plan on going to maria for my taxes for as long as I live in San Diego. If you need a good tax person she is your gal!"
